Kappa Delta

Our Recruitment

We are SO excited for recruitment this year and truly believe this is going to be the best year yet! We cannot wait to meet all of you and thought of some questions you might have and answered them below!!

Q: What does Kappa Delta look for in a girl?

A: In Kappa Delta, our open motto is "Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest" and when we look for new members, we base it off that. As a Kappa Delta, we are committed to academic achievements and philanthropy, but we also enjoy having fun with each other and others around us. We look for girls who want to achieve new goals, help others in need, and truly want a sisterhood that will be there for her. These are the girls that Kappa Delta always seeks out, and I believe our sisterhood reflects that.

Q: What can a PNM (Potential New Member) do to prepare for recruitment?

A: My biggest advice in preparing for recruitment is to be yourself and choose your sisterhood based on you, and no one else. So many times, girls will try to fit a stereotypical mold that society has set for sororities, but when it comes down to it, you will find a home in the sorority that accepts you for who you are. When you're choosing the sorority that you want to be your home, just remember that that decision is about you. It is so important that you make that decision on your own so that you are 100% sure of which sisterhood you want to be a part of. So be yourself and trust your own judgement.

Q: What are the benefits of going Greek?

A: Going Greek is one of the best decisions I ever made. Being on a small campus, it is so important to get yourself plugged in early, and joining a sisterhood is a great way to do that! In Kappa Delta, we encourage our sisters to give our all in everything we do, so each KD is also in another outside organization where many of us hold executive positions! I believe that the biggest benefit of going Greek is that you have a bigger support system than you probably ever thought possible. I know that on my best and worst days, Kappa Delta is the place that I go to find comfort. My sisters are there to help me when I fall and to celebrate my greatest achievements, and there really is no greater feeling.

Q: What is the most important thing girls  should know about Kappa Delta?

A: In Kappa Delta, there is not a special mold that you have to fit into. Each KD is so different, but that is what makes us so strong. We have different views, different styles,  and different ways of completing tasks, but at the same time we all have the same love, the same goals, and the same sisterhood that we are always working together to improve. Kappa Delta is more than just an organization with a great cause; we are sisters, friends, supporters, a hand to hold and a shoulder to lean on. We truly are individually unique, but together complete.
